By Wendi Baggaley Campaign Manager While the nation and the world have had their eyes fixed on the US Presidential race, here at home our favorite candidate has been receiving quite a bit of attention from political watchers in our state. Lee Davidson from The Salt Lake Tribune even recently quipped, "Utah's House District 53 continues to be a Wilde race." He further remarked: "The race saw razor-thin margins in counts since polls closed June 28. On election night, Wilde held a 64-vote lead. That dwindled to 11 votes on the first vote update July 1; grew slightly to a 16-vote lead July 5; and went back to a 10-vote edge Friday, before the final eight-point margin." This eight-point lead was certified on Tuesday by Lt. Governor Spencer Cox, and all five counties are expecting Representative Mel Brown (incumbent) to ask for a recount which will hopefully wrap up next week. In the meantime, feel free to check out our Media Archives and then enjoy this video representing what an absolutely Wilde ride this has been!
